Abu Dhabi Classic - Abdullah Ibrahim - African Landscapes

Over a 50-year career, South African jazz legend Abdullah Ibrahim has performed for an exceptionally wide range of audiences. As a young man in Johannesburg, he played to admiring gangsters in the dance halls of Sophiatown. In exile in Switzerland and later New York, he played host to the cream of American jazz musicians: Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk, who became close friends. In the luxurious ambience of the Emirates Palace terrace, Abdullah Ibrahim and his Trio will present the first jazz evening of Abu Dhabi Classics.
