Fantasy on Ice | 2010

The UAE capital is hosting the world premier of Steve Wheeler’s ‘Fantasy on Ice’ as part of the six-week ‘Summer in Abu Dhabi’ family festival. Fantasy on Ice is an original production that combines the mystifying world of magic illusion and the unique artistry of ice skating.

With an international cast of skating stars from the USA, Austria, France, Ukraine, South Africa, Estonia, Canada, Italy and the UK, Wheeler has created a spectacular show that transports audiences to a fantasy world, amazing, enthralling and thoroughly entertaining the audience.

This show offers a unique dimension to a regular ice skating performance. In addition to using the specially-created ice rink as its stage, the performers go vertical playing out their roles suspended high above the audience. A highlight act of Fantasy on Ice is a forest scene, where performers levitate to the top of a mystical 15 foot high tree to undertake a precision choreographed never-before-seen skating routine.

The show is a mix of aerial master-class acts, creative blend of skating, magic and acrobatics and enchanting costumes that unfailingly create an astounding visual display.
