New beach on Abu Dhabi Corniche to be opened this week

UAE. Residents in Abu Dhabi will witness on Wednesday the opening of a new two kilometre beach stretch along the Corniche, with swimming areas, refreshment outlets, scenic gardens, walking pathways, beach volleyball pitches and toilets.

Under the patronage of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the Abu Dhabi Municipality will officially commission the new leisure and tourist spot.
The finishing touches are being added at various facilities along the beach, built on an area of 11 hectares. The new beach will be very distinctive on the national and international levels, according to Director General of Abu Dhabi Municipality, Juma'a Mubarak Al Junaibi.
The 170 built umbrellas along the stretch will provide shade on a total area of 4,250 square metres. Four volleyball pitches are part of the enhanced recreational and sports facilities.
Visitors will be able to use the swimming area during daytimes, and trained lifeguards will monitor the swimmers from seven surveillance towers built for security. Floating fences will ensure swimming security over 40-metres into the sea.
A police post also has been built at the beach for added public security in the city's new leisure spot.
The landscaping and greenery will also contribute to making the beach one of the most beautiful destinations in the UAE. A central building will house a facility for picnic events, get-togethers and family gatherings. The building also has an elegantly designed mosque, refreshment areas, changing rooms and showers.
Along the landscaped area, benches have been laid out giving the people one of the most refreshing sights of the sea. This is in addition to a pathway paved in wood along the two-kilometre stretch.

Is it true that they apply an entrance fee for the new beach????

Entrance FEE

Yup it is true, 5dh for families, 10dh for single males, i think that will be better as it will reduce the number of visitors, and the money can be used in the beach services.
