$9.5 Million and 100 Cars up for Grabs in Camel Competition
In a drive to preserve the region's cultural heritage, millions of dollars will be awarded as prize money in a beauty pageant for camels to be held in Abu Dhabi this week.
Camels from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia will compete for the prize money which totals around $9.5 million as well as 100 cars which will be awarded.
Pageant organizer Mohammed al-Mazrouei said of the contest "Preserving the rich heritage of the UAE and passing it on to future generations constitutes one of the most important missions which people of the UAE wish to undertake”.
